Nexter reaffirms its presence in Africa and deploys the full strength of its range of land, air- land and naval systems at ShieldAfrica 2017

Abidjan, 23 January 2017 – Nexter, a land defence systems manufacturer and integrator and Europe’s third largest manufacturer of ammunition, air-land and naval equipment, reaffirms its presence in Africa.

Building on its expertise gained notably through the deployment of 8×8 Infantry Fighting Vehicle VBCI, self-propelled 155mm artillery system CAESAR and highly protected 4×4 ARAVIS, by the French Army in Africa, Nexter will present its range of products adapted to the operational requirements of African forces, from peace-keeping to high-intensity missions, at the ShieldAfrica exhibition in Abidjan from 24 to 26 January.

In the wake of the sale in 2014 to the Republic of Gabon of ARAVIS® 4×4 vehicles, followed by the sale of FINDERS® systems, NERVA® robots and Field hospitals at the Eurosatory exhibition in June 2016, Nexter is underlining, with its presence, the importance of the African continent in its export strategy.

The TITUS®, Nexter’s latest generation 6×6 wheeled armoured vehicle, will be on display in its “defence” configuration. A sturdy, reliable and highly modular platform, the TITUS® is equally at home in city or off-road environments. The TITUS® can fulfill a broad spectrum of missions, from transporting troops to providing combat support and logistical support, through peace-keeping, anti-terrorism and homeland security missions. Protected against ballistic attacks as well as from NRBC (Nuclear, Radiological, Biological and Chemical) threats and with an exceptionally high level of mobility, the TITUS® is an undeniable asset for forces worldwide.

Nexter’s fundamental ammunition business unit , composed of Mecar, Simmel Difesa and Nexter Munitions, will exhibit its range of medium and large calibre ammunition, from 20 mm to 155 mm, meeting naval, land and air-land requirements.Nexter will also present its battlefield digitization solutions, notably the FINDERS® C2 Battlefield Management System and the FINDMP aid for mission planning.

The Group’s equipment manufacturing subsidiaries will be represented by Nexter Robotics (NERVA® reconnaissance robots), Euro-Shelter (Field hospitals) and NBC-Sys (NRBC protection).
