► Babcock and Korea Aerospace Industries Ltd sign Memorandum of Understanding 

29 November 2024 – Babcock International Group (Babcock), the defence company, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Republic of Korea aviation company, Korea Aerospace Industries Ltd (KAI), to explore military flying training, air base support and engineering opportunities targeted in Central, Eastern and Southern Europe.

The signing ceremony was held in KAI’s office in Seoul, South Korea. During the ceremony, David Lockwood, Babcock CEO met Mr Goo-young Kang, President and CEO of KAI. The MOU was signed by Mark Goldsack, Babcock’s Managing Director of Business Growth and AUKUS and Mr Woorae Cho, KAI’s Executive Vice President.

This international partnership brings together a combination of miliary aviation experience that’s able to support air power requirements in today’s changing environment, enabling air forces to deliver on their core mission and maintain sovereign capabilities.

Mark Goldsack, Babcock’s Managing Director of Business Growth and AUKUS, said: “This MOU sees us expand our relationship with the leading aerospace company in South Korea.

“By leveraging KAI’s extensive technical expertise and our military flying training experience, we have the opportunity to position ourselves as an aviation capability partner in international defence markets.”
