►Swedish spin-Out TERASi to launch first-of-its-kind ‘aerial connectivity hub’ for tactical & critical civil operations as part of armed forces-backed initiative

Stockholm, Sweden, November 18 2025 – Stockholm-based advanced wireless solutions startup TERASi (terasi.io) has been selected to contribute to the Civil-Military Innovation Programme, a joint initiative backed by the Swedish Armed Forces and Vinnova, Sweden’s innovation agency. TERASi will extend its flagship RU1 hardware, the world’s smallest mm-wave radio with military-grade security, to advance the development of Tactical 2.0 – a first-of-its-kind aerial connectivity hub designed to enable rapid deployment of sovereign, mobile, secure 5G/6G networks for next-generation tactical communications.

From November 2025, TERASi will contribute to Tactical 2.0 alongside other startups as part of the nine-month initiative, which also includes participation in an accelerator program focused on developing a complementary civil-military business strategy. The initiative includes a 1MSEK grant (approximately $100,000 USD) from Vinnova to accelerate development.

Within the programme, TERASi will bring its flagship RU1 hardware to Tactical 2.0, enabling secure, high-speed airborne networks. Using TERASi’s patented Aircore™ technology, the RU1 achieves a form factor far smaller and lighter than conventional systems, enabling it to be rapidly deployed on portable mounts or airborne platforms. The system creates sovereign, high-speed wireless backbones that are secure, low-latency, and resilient, supporting mission-critical communications where traditional networks or satellites may be unavailable or compromised.

Modern civil and defence missions increasingly require secure, high-capacity networks that can be deployed rapidly, particularly in environments where conventional or satellite connectivity is unavailable, disrupted, or vulnerable. High-demand operations – from military missions to emergency response – often face slow deployments, high costs, and bandwidth limitations, which can hinder real-time video, sensor data, or AI-enabled systems. Tactical 2.0 addresses these challenges by providing flexible airborne communications, enhancing resilience and operational agility in contested, remote, or disaster-affected areas.

“This joint programme underscores Sweden’s commitment to developing future-ready, dual-use communication capabilities,” said James Campion, CEO and Co-founder of TERASi. “TERASi has consistently pushed the boundaries of high-frequency performance and integration and we are proud to contribute our technology and expertise toward Tactical 2.0 and to help enable secure, mobile high-capacity networks that strengthen national resilience and mission responsiveness.”
