AID – MBDA France Agreement: Strengthening International Synergies
The Director of the Italian Defence Industries Agency (AID), Professor Fiammetta Salmoni, has signed a four-year agreement with MBDA France for the demilitarisation of Aster 15 and Aster 30 missiles. This bilateral agreement between Italy and France will also include materials originating from storage facilities in the United Kingdom.
The demilitarisation process will be carried out by the Military Ammunition Recovery and Refurbishment Plant in Noceto (Parma), a centre of excellence both in Italy and across Europe. The facility operates according to the highest certified standards in safety and environmental protection.
AID boasts decades of specialised expertise in the dismantling of small, medium, and large calibre ammunition, anti-personnel and anti-tank mines, cluster bombs, rockets, and missiles.
This agreement not only recognises AID’s established industrial capabilities through its network of facilities but also represents a significant opportunity in terms of employment impact. It stands as a tangible sign of the Agency’s commitment to revitalising all its facilities with an increasingly international outlook.
The partnership with MBDA France acknowledges the high-level expertise present in Italy and serves as a continued incentive to invest in the Agency’s industrial capabilities.
