FLY-R: A new milestone in the trial of Remotely Operated Munitions aboard the Floréal frigate

1 July 2025 – On 17 June 2025, a system developed by FLY-R was successfully deployed from the surveillance frigate Floréal. During this at-sea demonstration, a remotely operated vector designed by our teams was launched and then remotely operated by the crew onboard, performing a series of complex manoeuvres around a simulated moving target.

This trial forms part of a broader programme led by the French Navy, aimed at assessing and integrating new tactical capabilities based on the use of remotely operated munitions. In response to the growing use of such systems in modern theatres of operation, the French Navy continues to invest in technological innovation to strengthen both its operational effectiveness and its resilience in the face of contemporary maritime threats.

FLY-R is proud to contribute to this momentum by providing its expertise in fixed-wing drones and remotely operated solutions tailored to the demands of the naval domain.
