French Ministry of the Armed Forces enhances driver operational readiness with Exail EF-Truck simulators
Lannion, France, 14/10/2025 – The French Ministry of the Armed Forces has taken delivery of two F-Truck driving simulators from Exail for the Operational Energy Service (SEO). These advanced, immersive training tools enable military drivers to prepare for complex, multi-domain scenarios essential to modern land defense, while ensuring personnel safety and optimizing resources.
This first delivery to the SEO marks a strategic milestone in Exail’s partnership with the French Armed Forces. Following successful deployments with the National Gendarmerie and the French Army, Exail is now extending its collaboration to an inter-service branch of the Ministry of the Armed Forces, further strengthening the forces’ operational readiness and responsiveness.
The EF-Truck simulators address several key strategic priorities:
• Enhanced operational preparedness: Drivers can repeatedly train in realistic, high-intensity scenarios, including multi-domain operations and high-risk situations.
• Immersion and efficiency: VR/MR environments and advanced 3D engines faithfully replicate operational conditions, accelerating skill development and decision-making in the field.
• Resource optimization and sustainability: Simulator-based training reduces wear on real vehicles and maintenance costs while minimizing environmental impact.
• Safety and risk management: Forces can prepare for high-risk missions or test exceptional scenarios without endangering personnel or equipment.
• Innovation and future-readiness: The solution is scalable, with an upgrade to Unreal Engine 5 planned for 2026, ensuring training capabilities remain aligned with evolving operational challenges.
“These simulators are a strategic asset for driver training. Their realism and immersive capabilities directly enhance the safety and effectiveness of our missions,” emphasizes Captain Georges, Head of the Driving Training Center at the Inter-Service Petroleum Base.
Charles Le Bot, Director of Simulation Activities at Exail, adds: “In an increasingly complex defense landscape, our simulators enable armed forces to prepare effectively for multi-domain operations while minimizing risks and optimizing resources. They are a strategic tool for anticipating and addressing tomorrow’s operational challenges.”
By providing realistic, immersive, and secure training, Exail supports the French Armed Forces in mastering the missions of tomorrow, enhancing their operational readiness and agility in the face of complex, evolving scenarios.
