Greece signs NH90 follow on support contract

Aix-en-Provence, France, 12 December 2025 – NHIndustries and the Hellenic Republic have reinforced their long‑standing partnership with the signature of a follow‑on support contract dedicated to Greece’s NH90 fleet.

“This agreement represents a major milestone in ensuring the long‑term success and performance of the NH90 in Greece,” said Axel Aloccio, President of NHIndustries.

The new contract, valued at €50 million, establishes a comprehensive support framework for the Hellenic Army’s NH90 Tactical Transport Helicopters (TTH), covering spare parts provisioning, maintenance services, and a full range of sustainment solutions over the next five years. This support service will significantly enhance the operational availability of Greece’s TTH fleet while further strengthening the relationship between NHIndustries and the Hellenic authorities.

The NH90 TTH is a state‑of‑the‑art, multi‑role military helicopter designed to operate in the most challenging environments. It offers armed forces a single, interoperable platform capable of performing missions such as troop transport, special operations, and combat search and rescue.

NHIndustries—the largest rotorcraft joint venture in the world—is responsible for the design, production, and support of the NH90, one of the most advanced military helicopters of its generation. The company brings together the strengths of Europe’s leading aerospace and defense players: Airbus Helicopters (62.5%), Leonardo (32%), and GKN Fokker (5.5%), each contributing deep expertise and decades of experience.

To date, 135 naval NH90s have been delivered to six nations, accumulating more than 90,000 flight hours across search and rescue, humanitarian, and military missions. As Europe’s largest military helicopter program, the NH90 stands out for its full‑composite airframe, spacious cabin, excellent power‑to‑weight ratio, and extensive mission‑equipment options.

Equipped with a quadruplex fly‑by‑wire flight control system, the NH90 reduces pilot workload and enhances handling performance. It is available in two primary variants: the NH90 NFH (NATO Frigate Helicopter) for naval missions and the NH90 TTH for land‑based operations.

Worldwide, more than 530 NH90 helicopters of both variants have been delivered, operating in diverse climates and environments over land and sea, and collectively surpassing 500,000 flight hours.
