Israel Shipyards to Deliver Five Advanced ‘Reshef’ Combat Ships to the Israeli Navy in a Strategic ‘Blue and White’ Deal
Haifa, Israel – December 12, 2024 -Israel Shipyards is proud to announce the signing of a landmark agreement with the Israeli Ministry of Defense to produce and deliver five advanced Sa’ar-class ‘Reshef’ combat ships. This monumental deal, valued at 2.8 billion NIS, highlights Israel’s commitment to bolstering its defense capabilities while supporting local industry and innovation.
The agreement, formalized at a ceremony in the head office of the Israeli MOD , marks the Israeli Navy’s transition to the next generation of maritime dominance. These multi-mission ships, developed in collaboration with the Israeli Navy, incorporate cutting-edge technologies and the finest weapon systems from the Israeli defense industry. The Reshef ships are designed to replace the aging ‘Nirit class’ fleet and offer unmatched operational capabilities, ensuring the Navy’s maritime superiority for decades.
Under the six-year contract, Israel Shipyards will manufacture and deliver the Reshef ships, with an option for additional production in the future. This initiative not only strengthens Israel’s national security but also guarantees continuity in ship production, supporting hundreds of jobs in the northern region of Israel.
