LANDEURO 2025 – Roketsan’s METE laser-guided missile, a compact effector for urban and asymmetric warfare

Joseph Roukoz

At LANDEURO 2025 Roketsan presented its METE laser-guided mini-missile. A next-generation weapon system, the METE is designed to deliver precise firepower against stationary targets and personnel, particularly in urban environments. Designed to support conventional and hybrid operations, the missile enhances the effectiveness of security forces by providing a surgical strike capability while minimising collateral damage

The METE laser-guided missile: it is designed to rapidly neutralise specific threats such as snipers, groups of personnel or reinforced positions. Supporting ground forces, particularly in urban or asymmetric operations. It can be launched from multiple platforms, making it easier to support units on the ground.

The METE is a miniature missile It is 0.5 metres long, has a 40 mm diameter and a mass of 1.4kg. Thanks to its small footprint and mass the METE is compatible with a variety of light launch platforms, including UAVs, land vehicles, and naval vessels, whether manned or unmanned. It is fitted with a semi-active laser seeker which provides a precision of 1metre, and carries a high explosive fragmentation warhead with steel balls that is carried at over 1 km range, the lethal package being designed to cope with personnel and light vehicles.

The low risk of collateral damage due to its precision makes it an ideal tool in densely populated or built-up areas; in peacekeeping operations for its ability to neutralise threats with precision; and for striking targets that are difficult to reach by conventional means.
