MILEX-2025 – Belarus unveils the Sky-Truck unmanned helicopter
The Belarusian company “KB Unmanned Helicopters” presented for the first time at the MILEX-2025 international military exhibition the Sky-Truck unmanned transport helicopter with a lifting capacity of 500 kg
The Sky-Truck features a coaxial rotor architecture, with two three-blade counter-rotating rotors with a 12.8 metres diameter, the tail boom with the vertical tail turned downwards ensures the longitudinal stability of the device.
To avoid issues with the centre of gravity, the rotors are located above the payload bay. The choice of the counter-rotating rotors was aimed at limiting the aircraft footprint on the ground, this allowing it to operate from a 30 x 30 metres unprepared landing zone. The length of the helicopter, without blades is 7.7 metres, its height is 4 metres, the landing gear track being 2.6 metres.
The Sky-Truck is powered by a Rolls-Royce 250-C30 turboshaft gas turbine, running on aviation kerosene, which designated service life is 3,000 hours. According to information gathered at the KB Unmanned Helicopters stand, the unmanned transport helicopter has a maximum take-off mass of 2,000 kg, normal take-off mass being 1,700 kg. The helicopter dry mass is 1,100 kg, to which we must add 375 kg for the 500 litres fuel, and 500 kg of the payload, including the container. The helicopter is equipped with two Airbox transport containers and can be used for container transportation.
Maximum flight speed is 140 km/h, cruising speed is 120 km/h, while to obtain the maximum flight endurance of 5 hours the economical is 80 km/h; maximum range is 360 km.
The designated airframe service life is 6,000 hours.
It should be noted that the Belarusian helicopter is similar in configuration to the unmanned Air Truck transport unmanned helicopter presented by ADASI, an entity of the UAE EDGE Group, at IDEX 2023 and UMEX 2024 international exhibitions and has the same payload of 500 kg. This is quite natural, since KB Unmanned Helicopters of Belarus cooperates with the UAE EDGE holding.
As a representative of the Belarusian company told EDR On-Line, a preliminary order has been received from an unnamed customer for the production and delivery of the first 20 Sky-Track unmanned helicopters.
