Nordic Air Defence expands into Poland and signs counter-drone partnership with WB Group and Tantalit
Stockholm / Warsaw, 13 March 2026– Swedish defence technology company Nordic Air Defence (nordicairdefence.com) today announced the launch of Nordic Air Defence Poland, marking its expansion into one of Europe’s fastest-growing defence markets.
As part of the expansion, Nordic Air Defence will establish a local presence in Poland, including opening a Polish office, building a local sales organisation, and recruiting engineers and technical personnel. The company will also seek to establish assembly capabilities for its interceptor systems in the country.
In parallel with the expansion, Nordic Air Defence has signed a Letter of Intent with Polish defence companies WB Group(wbgroup.pl) and Tantalit(tantalit.pl) to establish strategic cooperation around counter-drone defence technologies.
The cooperation will focus on the integration, production, sales and deployment of Nordic Air Defence’s high-speed kinetic interceptor K100XR interceptorwithin WB Group’s counter-UAS ecosystem. The interceptor is designed as a scalable and cost-effective kinetic system capable of defeating hostile drones.
The companies will also explore technical integration of the K100XR into Tantalit’s AI-enabled command-and-control ecosystem- enabling sensor fusion, AI-assisted targeting and coordinated counter-drone defence.
The partnership will pursue industrial cooperation opportunities, including potential production or assembly of Nordic Air Defence’s interceptor system in Poland, helping strengthen Europe’s defence industrial capacity.
Under the proposed framework, Nordic Air Defence will act as design authority and developer of the interceptor system, while Tantalit and WB Group will contribute AI software, system integration and battlefield networking capabilities.
Joint technical workshops and feasibility assessments are expected to begin in the coming months, with the ambition of supporting Polish counter-UAS programmes and potential export opportunities.
The announcement comes during the ongoing Swedish state visit to Poland, underscoring the deepening defence and security cooperation between the two NATO allies.
Poland has become a central pillar of NATO’s eastern flank and one of Europe’s largest defence spenders, investing heavily in modernising its armed forces and strengthening air defence capabilities amid the rapidly evolving security environment in Europe.
