PAS 2025 – Parrot presents the ANAFI UKR micro-UAV
The French company Parrot presented for the first time at the Paris Air Show the ANAFI UKR, a small-sized reconnaissance quadcopter drone, adapted to the requirements of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and capable of conducting short-range day and night reconnaissance
As Parrot representatives explained to EDR On-Line, the development of the ANAFI UKR micro-UAV solves two problems that exist in the combat zone: the massive use of electronic warfare (EW) systems, and the jamming of GPS satellite navigation signals along the entire front line. Precise positioning is vital for the use of drones, which is not only blocked by EW systems, but can also be changed by the enemy. GPS signals can be intercepted and spoofed by the enemy to disorient the drone and direct it to false landmarks. On the front line, the performance of a combat mission today depends on the ability of the UAV to avoid electromagnetic traps set by the enemy. To do son the ANAFI UKR is highly immune to interference from EW.
When folded the micro-UAV dimensions are 245 x 160 x 116 mm, which become 350 x 665 x 116 mm when unfolded. Its basic mass is 959 grams, while maximum take-off mass is 1,450 grams. The maximum flight time with a standard battery is 38 minutes at a flight speed of 6 m/s, the maximum flight range is 23 km at a flight speed of 10 m/s, the maximum horizontal flight speed is 17 m/s, the maximum climb and descent speed is 8 m/s. When the ANAFI UKR is equipped with the new XLR battery with an extended service life the flight time increases to 50 minutes and the flight range goes up to 40 km.
The micro-UAV can afford wind speeds of up to 15 m/s, can operate at altitudes are up to 5,000 metres, operating temperature ranging from -350C to +500C.
The drone is controlled using the SkyController UKR ruggedized ground control station which has a mass of 1,764 grams, with dimensions of 171 x 302 x 77 mm in the folded position and 171 x 302 x 215 mm in the unfolded working position. It includes a commercial tablet (such as Samsung or iPad Mini) and offers up to 4.5 hours of continuous use.
The Optronic payload includes a dual EO/IR stabilized gimbal with and RGB day camera with a 35x zoom, and a FLIR Boson thermal imaging system, allowing identification of human-sized targets up to 2.2 km (day mode), 173 metres (IR mode) from 120 metres above ground level. Multiple secure radio architecture includes encrypted dual-radio system (Wi-Fi and 5G), with MARS frequency-hopping radio (military radio) and LoRa backup link for autonomous return-to-home.
The combination of endurance, robustness and discretion allows ANAFI UKR micro-UAVs to operate where larger systems cannot, in urban environments, hostile terrain or low-profile missions requiring mobility, flexibility, and sovereign command of data and airspace.
According to Parrot representative ANAFI UKR micro-UAV pricing starts at 15,000 euros, depending on selected configuration, integrations, and support options. The ANAFI UKR has already been launched into serial production.
