► Texelis Defense becomes KNDS Mobility and joins the European leader in land defense
Versailles, April 2nd, 2026 – KNDS France announces the completion of the acquisition of Texelis Defense, which becomes KNDS Mobility, a recognized specialist in land mobility for military vehicles. This strategic transaction strengthens the group’s industrial capabilities, consolidates the European land defense sector, and reflects KNDS’s commitment to offering its customers even more integrated, secure, and high-performance systems.
An acquisition at the heart of KNDS’s growth strategy
The acquisition of Texelis Defense is part of KNDS’s growth strategy: to strengthen its industrial capabilities, control its key technologies, and support the ramp-up in production that is now essential. By consolidating its critical capabilities, reducing its dependencies, and securing its supply chains, KNDS contributes to its customers’ sovereignty and to the strengthening of the European defense industry.
Unique expertise supporting an expanded range of offerings for customers
KNDS Mobility brings unique expertise in land mobility, drivetrains, and innovative mobility solutions to KNDS, covering both wheeled vehicles (from 4×4 to 8×8) and tracked vehicles. These capabilities complement the KNDS portfolio perfectly, enabling the company to cover the full range of technical areas – mobility, protection, observation, attack and mission systems – throughout the entire product lifecycle. The integration of KNDS Mobility’s capabilities enables the KNDS Group to strengthen its market position across its various product segments, while also preparing for the future in key technological areas such as energy optimization, platform autonomy, and advanced mobility solutions.
This integration of KNDS Mobility’s operations will directly benefit the customers of both companies: KNDS will be able to offer a more comprehensive, cohesive, and responsive range of solutions, accelerating development cycles and improving end-to-end control of land systems. Existing technological, commercial, and industrial partnerships – particularly within the Serval program – will be leveraged and strengthened. For example, within the Serval program, KNDS Mobility is responsible for providing the mobility solution, while KNDS France handles the manufacturing and assembling of the integrated vehicle and the supply of associated complementary equipment.
KNDS Mobility’s products, services, and contractual commitments to all of its customers and partners remain fully in effect. The operational teams of the new entity will remain in place, and ongoing projects will continue as planned.
A long-term industrial merger, benefiting both employees and local communities
KNDS Mobility joins a solid, long-standing and fast-growing group. This acquisition is based on a long-term industrial vision, with a commitment to preserving and developing KNDS Mobility’s expertise and strengths, while providing new growth opportunities for its teams. With sites in Limoges and Roanne, KNDS Mobility further strengthens KNDS’s industrial presence at the heart of France’s defense industry.
KNDS Mobility will benefit from the strength, resources, and investment capacity of the pan-European leader in land defense solutions, while further enhancing its agility. This integration will expand its resources, to the great benefit of its current and future customers worldwide — whether government entities or industrial partners.
Nicolas Groult, CEO of KNDS France, stated: “The acquisition of Texelis Defense is a pivotal step for the group. It consolidates our leading industrial and technological capabilities, strengthens our autonomy over critical systems, and enhances our ability to meet the growing needs of our customers. I am particularly pleased to welcome the teams from KNDS Mobility to KNDS, as their expertise and commitment will be valuable assets for the group.”
Jean Vandel, CEO of Texelis Defense, declared: “Joining KNDS is a major milestone in the company’s history, as well as a logical industrial move. We share the same vision for land defense, the same ambition for our teams, and the same drive to move forward. This merger will give us the means to accelerate our growth both in France and internationally and to contribute even more effectively to KNDS’s rise as a European leader in land defense systems.”
