Paramount Greece and Ukraine’s MAC HUB announce strategic defence partnership and launch of new european-produced armoured vehicle
Athens / Kyiv. 4 February 2026. Paramount Greece, today announced a strategic defence collaboration with leading Ukrainian defence company MAC HUB, marking a major milestone in European industrial cooperation and Ukraine’s rapidly advancing defence manufacturing capability. The partnership is focused on the joint development and local production of advanced land platforms and systems, aligned to the evolving requirements of modern, high-intensity conflicts.
As its first major milestone, the collaboration has culminated in the launch of a new MRAP armoured vehicle, locally produced in Ukraine and specifically adapted to address contemporary battlefield threats. The new vehicle, to be known as MAC OWL (Sova) has been extensively localised and re-engineered by MAC HUB engineers to meet Ukrainian operational realities, terrain, and threat profiles. This localisation has been achieved through Paramount’s portable production model, which enables advanced defence systems to be manufactured in-country, ensuring sovereignty, security of supply, and rapid scalability.
The MAC OWL (Sova) armoured vehicle represents a landmark achievement for Ukraine’s defence industry, becoming the highest protected MRAP vehicle ever produced in Ukraine. Certified to STANAG 4569 Level 4a/4b mine protection, the vehicle is designed to withstand the detonation of a 10kg explosive charge under both the wheel and hull – a critical requirement in today’s mine- and IED-saturated operational environments.
Developed and refined in direct response to the realities of the Russia–Ukraine war, the MAC OWL (Sova) reflects lessons learned from sustained high-intensity operations. MAC HUB engineers have adapted the design’s layout, situational awareness, protection profile, and systems integration to optimise survivability and operational effectiveness under extreme combat conditions.
For Paramount Greece, the partnership marks the company’s formal entry into the European defence market, reinforcing its role as a catalyst for regional industrial capability, innovation, and collaboration. The announcement comes at a time of heightened security challenges across Europe. The Russia–Ukraine conflict has fundamentally reshaped the continent’s threat landscape, underscoring the urgent need for force readiness, resilient supply chains, and sovereign industrial capabilities. European nations increasingly recognise that access to defence equipment alone is insufficient; local production, sustainment, and upgrade capability are now strategic imperatives.
A spokesperson for Paramount Greece stated: “By combining Paramount Greece’s advanced platform design and industrial expertise with MAC HUB’s frontline experience and in-country manufacturing capability, the partnership delivers a model for future European-Ukrainian defence cooperation. It ensures that critical systems can be produced, maintained, and evolved locally, reducing dependency on external supply chains while accelerating operational availability.”
A spokesperson for MAC HUB stated: “This partnership is about far more than a single vehicle. It is about building resilient defence ecosystems, transferring advanced capability, and ensuring that nations facing the most demanding security challenges have the tools, technologies, and industrial capacity required to defend themselves – today and in the future.”
The strategic agreement underpinning the collaboration was signed eighteen months ago, with the MAC OWL (Sova) armoured vehicle now standing as the first tangible outcome of a long-term commitment to European security, Ukrainian industrial sovereignty, and next-generation defence innovation.
