Aero India 2025
Aero-India 2025, one of Asia’s premier aerospace and defence exhibitions, took place from February 10th to 14th at the Yelahanka Air Force Station in Bangalore, Karnataka. The biennial event served as a dynamic platform for showcasing the latest advancements in aviation technology and fostering international collaboration.
Aero India 2025 drew significant participation according to the organiser, with over 809 companies from 27 countries exhibiting their cutting-edge technologies and products. The event featured an impressive display of 53 aircraft, captivating attendees with aerial demonstrations and static displays. Organisers anticipated over 700.000 visitors throughout the five-day event.
The event was inaugurated on February 10th by India’s Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh. In his opening address, Singh emphasized the critical link between security and peace, stating that “peace cannot be attained in a state of weak security.” He further asserted that “there is no isolated Indian security or peace,” highlighting the importance of shared security, stability, and peace that transcends national borders.
Singh underscored the government’s prioritization of the defence sector, evidenced by the acquisitions of ₹6.81 trillion to the Ministry of Defence, including ₹1.80 trillion for capital acquisitions. He expressed confidence that India would surpass its defence production target ₹1.27 trillion and defence exports of ₹210 billion in the coming years. This should happen pretty soon as he declared that “defence production will exceed ₹1.60 trillion by the end of 2025-26, and exports will surpass ₹300 billion.” He expressed the government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring that the defence sector progresses at an unprecedented pace.
In a symbolic gesture, Singh likened Aero-India to the Mahakumbh Mela, a major Hindu pilgrimage and festival. He noted that Aero India is a “kumbh of research, focused on external strength and showcasing India’s power.”
