Dubai Airshow 2023

Like every two years the Dubai Airshow 2023 opened its doors on Monday November 17th to at the Dubai World Central (DWC), the aeronautical site in Dubai. According to organizers, 148 countries were present with 1,400 companies which exhibited their equipment indoor and outdoor.

Some 180 civil and military planes were present on the airport tarmac, part of them taking part in the demonstration, among them the Dassault Rafale from and the General Dynamics F16.

Although not many new systems were unveiled in the military field, the show was crowded with visitors. For the first time was local female engineers were present on the stands of national companies, presenting their products to potential customers and visitors.

This 2023 edition of the Dubai Air Show was an overall success, the focus being on showcasing sustainability initiatives and technologies from government entities and the wider aerospace industry, reinforcing the UAE’s unwavering commitment to promoting sustainable circularity ahead of the COP28 summit in Dubai. Across the country, industry players continue to invest in new projects and initiatives, such as Emirates operating first commercial  flights powered 100% with sustainable aviation fuel, and Dubai Airports implementing implements effective and innovative solutions to limit their environmental impact.

The UAE is still a flourishing market for international players that export their products in the country, but in the near future things will change, thanks to the new policy of the United Arab Emirates that aim to the industrialize the country by investing in international companies in return for technology transfer to open their own design and production facilities locally.
