The 9th edition of the Expodefensa trade fair opened its doors from December 5 to 7, 2023 in Bogotá. It was inaugurated by the Minister of Defence of Colombia, Iván Velásquez Gómez, accompanied by senior political and official figures at the local and international level. Some 220 exhibitors from 25 countries showcased their products, the event attracting 90 delegations and over 25,000 visitors from 40 countries, including government, military, industrial and media representatives, according to organizers.

The show was divided into four thematic zones, a land zone hosted armoured vehicles, light and heavy weapons, communications and command systems, and logistic support equipment. A maritime area featured models of warships, submarines, naval combat systems, and naval support equipment. In the air zone visitors could find models of fighter jets, helicopters, air defence systems, and aviation support equipment. Finally, an area dedicated to cyber issues gathered cybersecurity solutions, intelligence and surveillance systems.
