IDV inaugurates new production line in Brazil for manufacturing the LMV-BR 2 multirole vehicle
March 31st, Sete Lagoas (Minas Gerais, Brazil) – IDV, a Leonardo company, has inaugurated its new production line dedicated to the LMV-BR 2 4×4 multirole vehicle at its facility in Sete Lagoas, Minas Gerais.
The first units produced on this line will fulfil the contract signed with the Brazilian Army for the delivery 420 LMV-BR 2 vehicles. Based on IDV’s proven LMV platform, the LMV-BR 2 was developed to enhance mobility, protection, and versatility for troops deployed in diverse missions, improving operational efficiency in challenging scenarios. The inauguration was attended by Generals from the Brazilian Army’s High Command, who reviewed the new facility and the company’s industrial capabilities.
The new production line marks an important advancement in IDV’s productive and technological capacity in Brazil, reinforcing the company’s commitment to strengthening the country’s defence industrial base while meeting the operational demands of the military forces.
The Brazilian Army currently already operates 32 LMV-BR 4×4 vehicles, all of which receive continuous maintenance and support from IDV. The high levels of fleet reliability and availability highlight IDV’s commitment to supporting the readiness and operational capability of military forces worldwide.
In addition to serving the domestic market, the new production line will also enable IDV to expand its global operations, targeting future export opportunities. With the expansion of its industrial structure, the company consolidates its strategic position in the defence market and strengthens Brazil’s role as hub for the production and supply of defence vehicles to international countries.
