LAAD 2019: Turkish Aerospace T129 starring in Latin America

Turkish Aerospace announced the launch of its “T129 ATAK Brazil Roadshow” before LAAD during which its T129 ATAK Multirole Combat Helicopter demonstrated its capabilities and performance for the first time in Latin America at Fort Ricardo Kirk, the headquarters of Brazilian Army Aviation at Taubaté. The T129 was also presented to Brazilian local authorities and the media at a flight demonstration at the Federal Capital Brasilia’s Fire Department on 28th of March. The helicopter appeared again on static display at at LAAD.

The T129 ATAK Helicopter a new generation, tandem and two-seat, twin engine helicopter, specifically designed for attack and reconnaissance, is powered by LHTEC CTS 800-4A turboshaft engine, with new avionics, visionics and weapon systems, a modified airframe, upgraded drive train and new tail rotor. The first batch of T129 ATAK Helicopters has already been delivered to the Turkish Armed Forces and is in service supporting the missions of the Turkish Army. The T129 ATAK was evaluated by the Brazilian Army Aviation Test and Evaluation Group (GEA) in Turkey in November 2018 as part of the Army’s AVEX programme.

President and CEO of Turkish Aerospace Prof. Temel Kotil while evaluating steps taken towards South America said: ‘’Within the first Roadshow of T129 ATAK Helicopter in Latin America we as Turkish Aerospace, are going to demonstrate a real show and to display our products once again in the most important exhibition of the region. This very first presence in Latin America through our T129 ATAK Helicopter as well as other products emphasises how ambitious we are’’.
