Paris Air Show 2025
Inaugurated on June 16th by François Bayrou, the French Prime Minister, the 55th edition of the International Paris Air Show gathered along the runway and in the halls of the Le Bourget airport 2,400 exhibitors from 48 countries, 46% of them being French companies.
Forty-eight countries minus one, as on the eve of the exhibition Israeli stands were secluded by wooden walls, discussions ongoing on rules not respected. What is certain is that after what happened at Eurosatory 2024, for the second time some key players in the defence world were obliged to renounce to showcase their products after investing in some major exhibitions.
According to figures provided by the GIFAS, the French Aerospace Industries Association, which organises the exhibition, the 2025 edition was attended by 305,200 visitors; most of these have spilled out into the exhibition venue on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, the three public days, while in the four previous days, reserved to trade visitors, the attendance totalled 141,000 individuals, 38% of whom being international.
Some 400 delegations, military and civilian, visited this year Paris Air Show, which for the first time organised the Paris Space Hub, underlining the importance acquired by space both in civilian and military scenarios.
After editions where 6th generation air dominance programmes took the stage, the 2025 edition saw loitering munitions and air defence gaining importance, in the light of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. Among flight demonstrations, the more fascinating (and noisy) were those of the Rafale and of the F-35, while 173 flight demonstrations were performed in the seven days of the show, 155 aircraft of different types, commercial, leisure and military being exhibited.
