The seventh edition of the Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX 2022) took place this week in the Qatari capital, a record number of warships, the highest participating in the show’s history, visiting the Hamad Port. Held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the State of Qatar, the biennial event hosted and organized by the Qatar Armed Forces saw approximately 200 international and national exhibitors showcasing the latest military hardware along with Qatar’s growing indigenous defence capability. The theme of the show was ‘connecting the world’s maritime defence and security community’, and the international conference, together with the panoplia of participating industries, attracted the interest and the participation of a large number of official delegations from all over the world.
