EDEX 2018

EDEX inaugural edition opens its doors in Cairo

As Africa is opening up as a promising market in the Defence world, the nation with the largest military power of the continent did not had until now its own defence exhibition. This is not anymore true, as on 3 December 2018 Egypt Defence Expo 2018 – EDEX in short – opened its doors. Nearly 350 exhibitors from some 40 countries are showing the products considered the most interesting for Egypt itself and for Africa at large in the premises of the Egypt International Exhibition Centre (EIEC) located in the eastern part of Cairo. EDEX is held under the patronage of His Excellency, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and is fully supported by the Egyptian Armed Forces.

Nineteen national pavilions plus the Egyptian one are present at the exhibition premises: Belarus, China, France, Germany, Greece, India, Italy, Pakistan, Portugal, Rep. of Korea, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Slovakia, South Africa, Spain, the United Arab Emirates, Ukraine, the United Kingdom and the United States of America. The latter hosts the higher number of exhibitors, of course after Egypt, followed by France, the UAE, and the United Kingdom.

Over 10,000 visitors are expected in the three-days event, including a number of official delegations.
