Gripen E: towards the Military Type Certificate

Born in a hot area, talking about threat and not climate, which has become even hotter in recent times, the Gripen E is close to become the backbone of the Swedish Air Force air defence capability as it is close to obtain the Military Type Certificate. With 14 aircraft in the hands of industry and military in two countries, Sweden and Brazil, the development work is advancing at quick pace, which will allow the two air forces to soon operationally deploy the new aircraft. The series of briefings provided by Saab in late August allowed getting the latest information on the programme.
