IDEX, the International Defence Exhibition And Conference organised every two years in Abu Dhabi at the ADNEC (Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre), which now also adds NAVDEX, its naval counterpart, is one of the very few defence exhibitions to take place in real since the beginning of the COVID pandemic. Strict rules have been imposed to all participants regarding PCR tests, in order to ensure maximum safety.

That said not all usual exhibitors took the risk, and the 2021 edition definitely lacks some major defence producers. One of the most striking novelties of this year is the presence of Israeli companies, following the political rapprochement between Tel Aviv and the Emirates. However medical issues led the Israeli authorities to cancel at the last moment the participation of national personnel to the show. Numerous Israeli stands are however active, manned by companies’ foreign representatives who are presenting Israeli defence technologies.

A number of new equipment is going to be unveiled at the Abu Dhabi exhibition, both by local companies as well as by international producers, promising to make IDEX an exciting exhibition, notwithstanding the difficult moments we are all living.

Although the EDR On-Line team will have very few people physically on the show, we tried to gather as many information as possible that we will provide you in the coming days.
